YAPPI STUDENT’S EXPERIENCE WITH AKODU LOVETH

We at the Youth in Animation and Post Production Initiative (YAPPI) are ecstatic at the enthusiasm and willingness to learn about our vibrant YAPPIans display. This series, YAPPI Student’s Experience, will highlight the YAPPI program from the point of view of our creative YAPPI community members. Meet Akodu Loveth, one of the Cohort 1  YAPPI students who recently started her on-site journey, and who shares her experience since she started the YAPPI program. Discover YAPPI through his eyes!

1. Can you tell us your name and what you do?

My Name is Akodu Loveth also called Tech Babe. I am a UI/UX Designer - I help Tech Startups & Established businesses craft User-friendly Interfaces to boost user engagement & drive conversions, ultimately increasing your revenue. I am also very passionate about Growth and Building Impact

2. What unique strengths do you bring to the YAPPI program and how will you leverage them to make the most of the opportunity?

As a UI/UX designer with a passion for growth and impact, I bring a unique blend of creativity, problem-solving skills, and a strong understanding of user engagement.

I will leverage these strengths to enhance the visual appeal and user experience of animations and post-production work, ensuring they captivate audiences and drive impactful outcomes.

Additionally, my dedication to continuous improvement will allow me to make the most of the opportunity by actively seeking out new skills and collaborating effectively within the program.

3. The YAPPI program will be over the next six months, how do you envision your personal and professional growth?

Over the next six months, through the YAPPI program, I envision substantial growth in both my personal and professional capacities.

Professionally, I anticipate honing my skills in AR/VR/XR design and development, leveraging the knowledge gained to create immersive and impactful experiences.

I foresee increased confidence and a deeper sense of fulfillment as I pursue my passion and contribute to innovative projects in the field.

4. In what ways do you plan to collaborate with your peers in the YAPPI program to create a supportive and dynamic learning environment?

To create a supportive and dynamic learning environment within the YAPPI program, I plan to collaborate actively with my peers. This includes sharing insights and resources, offering constructive feedback, and engaging in group projects to leverage each other's strengths and collectively enhance our skills in animation and post-production.

Additionally, I aim to foster a culture of encouragement and mutual support to inspire creativity and collaboration among the participants which I am actively doing with my peers at the moment

5. What specific skills do you hope to gain from YAPPI, and how do you plan to apply them in your professional and academic pursuits?

From the YAPPI program, I hope to gain specialized skills in animation and post-production tailored to the AR/VR/XR space.

These include mastering 3D modeling, animation techniques, and immersive storytelling. I plan to apply these skills to enhance user experiences in AR/VR/XR applications, ultimately advancing my career in this niche field and contributing to impactful projects.

Additionally, I aim to integrate these learnings into my academic pursuits, enriching my understanding of emerging technologies and their applications in design and development.

6. What legacy do you hope to leave within the YAPPI community after completing the program, and how will you measure your impact?

After completing the YAPPI program, I hope to leave behind a legacy as memorable as Nigerian Party jollof rice. In all seriousness I honestly hope to inspire and empower fellow/upcoming participants to pursue their passions in animation and post-production, fostering a culture of creativity and growth.

I will measure my impact by assessing the success and progress of mentees, as well as my continued engagement and contributions as an alumni to the YAPPI community.

7. As a YAPPIan, how do you see yourself shaping the future of animation and the post-production industry?

As a YAPPIan, while the future of animation and post-production may seem uncertain, I see opportunities to make significant contributions.

Through this program, I aim to explore new techniques and technologies, potentially revolutionizing how we experience storytelling in AR/VR/XR.

While I can't predict the exact path, I'm confident that by collaborating with talented individuals and staying dedicated to my craft, I'll play a VITAL role in shaping the industry's future and accomplishing remarkable feats along the way.

8. Say one exciting thing about your YAPPI experience

Yeah, so there's no ONE exciting thing about YAPPI at all
