1. Can you tell us your name and what you do?

I'm Linus Greatness, a creative and innovative thinker with a passion for design and storytelling. My goal is to utilize my skills to drive a positive change in healthcare.

2. What unique strengths do you bring to the YAPPI program and how will you leverage them to make the most of the opportunity 

I'm excited to bring my creative skills to YAPPI. I can craft compelling stories and scripts to drive animation projects forward. I can also develop engaging narratives and characters that captivate audiences.

By combining my writing, storytelling, and design skills, I'm confident I can make a meaningful contribution to YAPPI. I'm looking forward to learning from industry professionals, collaborating with fellow creatives, and producing high-quality animation projects that showcase our collective talents.

3. The YAPPI program will be over the next six months, how do you envision your personal and professional growth 

Over the next six months, I envision myself undergoing significant personal and professional growth through the YAPPI program. I see myself becoming a more confident and creative storyteller, able to craft compelling narratives and design visually appealing assets that bring animation projects to life. Through collaboration, I expect to develop my problem-solving skills and adaptability, learning to navigate the dynamic environment of the animation industry.

4. In what ways do you plan to collaborate with your peers in the YAPPI program to create a supportive and dynamic learning environment 

I intend to participate in knowledge sharing with my peers where we can learn from each others' strengths and weaknesses—also engage in open and respectful discussions, share ideas to cultivate a culture of creativity, As well as Work together on group projects, utilizing our various skills and talents to produce high-quality animation and post-production work.

5. What specific skills do you hope to gain from YAPPI and how do you plan to apply them in your professional and academic pursuit 

I aim to acquire expertise in animation techniques and software, as well as storyboarding and visual storytelling skills, through the YAPPI program. With this knowledge, I plan to create engaging and educational health content for kids and elderly people. Additionally, I aim to empower rural youth by teaching them 3D animation skills, providing them with a creative outlet and valuable skill set. 

6. What legacy do you hope to leave within the YAPPI community after completing the program and how will you measure your impact 

As I complete the YAPPI program, I hope to be remembered as a passionate and dedicated member of the YAPPI community, who not only gained skills and knowledge but also gave back to the community through mentorship, collaboration, and innovation. I aspire to have played a role in shaping the program's future, contributing to its growth and evolution, and helping to create a supportive ecosystem where creatives can thrive and reach their full potential.

7. As a YAPPIan, how do you see yourself shaping the future of the  animation and post-production industries? 

As a YAPPIan, I aim to transform the animation and post-production industry. I'll make animation tools accessible to all, especially rural youth, and create engaging healthcare education animations. I'll collaborate with others to produce high-quality content, contribute to the growth of the YAPPI community, and inspire positive change. My goal is to leave a lasting legacy and empower future generations of creatives.

8. Say one exciting thing about your YAPPI experience 

I'm completely enjoying my YAPPI experience, and it's hard to pinpoint just one exciting thing. The entire journey has been phenomenal - from the supportive learning environment to the expert instructors and talented peers. Every aspect has been a joy, and I eagerly look forward to each class. I'm grateful to Del-York Creative Academy and the MasterCard Foundation for this incredible opportunity, which has exceeded my expectations.
